Very Comfortable Room

Holiday Inn Express Fairhope an IHG Hotel

We really enjoyed our one night stay here. The room was very nice, the bed was comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure. It was also conveniently located to downtown, the pier, and the highway. The only issue was it smelled like a pet friendly room. We could tell the moment we walked in that pets had been in the room. It smelled of dog dander, a cat, or a mix of the two. We’ve stayed in other dog friendly rooms and they’ve never smelled like the previous pet resident. We sprayed Lysol and wiped everything with Clorox wipes and that seemed to help.

Great Happy Hour!

Drury Inn & Suites Gainesville

This Drury in was very comfortable. The room was a little smaller than we expected for a “deluxe king.” When we travel with our dogs we hope for a couple of things: a ground floor room with easy access to the outside, and an end room with no room on at least one side of us and possibly no room across from us. Well, we were on the fourth floor but it was an end room with only one neighbor and the stairwell to the outside was around the corner. So, it wasn’t too bad. When we checked in we were given drink cards in order to get three complimentary drinks that night. They also had a very nice spread of happy hour type foods. We didn’t eat anything so I can’t comment on the food. My husband had a beer and I had a margarita. They were both decent - especially for being free. My chief issue with this Drury Inn is we had the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door as we were packing up to leave and housekeeping knocked on the door ready to clean our room! It was before check out time too! Of course this freaked our 3 dogs out and they started barking like crazy! If that hadn’t happened I would give this Drury Inn 4 bones.
