Great staff!
SpringHill Suites by Marriott Richmond North/Glen AllenStaff were wonderful with my elderly parent and my dog. I'll keep my needs private, but the staff went above and beyond to make sure my family was comfortable.
Perfect Distance
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham WythevilleWas about 6 hours from Pittsburgh (heading to FL). The hotel has an elevator, and plenty of grass for the dog. Dogs are supposed to be crated if left unattended in the room. I called the front desk and got permission to load up the car without crating my dog in the meantime. Was really grateful for that since I couldn't pack her crate into the car anyways.
Creepy place
Motel 6 Daytona Beach FL - SpeedwayI guess you get what you pay for. No elevators, so my senior dog with hip problems had to deal with a full flight of stairs every time she needed potty. Hardwood floors were filthy and turned my feet black. Did not find any mold in the bathroom, though I was still suspicious so didn't use the shower. Also, roving groups of young men after dark. Could smell the weed. Didn't feel safe as a lone woman. Glad I had my elderly dog to protect me. I slept with the light on and the door bolted; we left as early as I could the next day. On the plus side, they didn't seem to care that I had a dog.
Great location but pricy
Best Western Savannah Historic DistrictSavannah is a pay for parking city. You will have to pay for parking at this hotel, on the street or in a garage if you bring your car. The hotel lets you keep your car in their lot until 3pm on the day you check out. I was happy about that; we used the extra time to explore the riverwalk after only staying one night. There is no elevator at the hotel, but our room was on the first floor. I assume the price was due to the location in the historic district and the proximity to the river. Otherwise it was overpriced for this otherwise standard motel.
