One Night Stay

Home2 Suites by Hilton Charlotte I-77 South NC

Our overall experience was good but I can't give it 5 bones. The front page of their website did NOT indicate that the pool was closed or that breakfast would NOT be served. So it was disappointing to arrive and find that out. It was only when you clicked into the fine details of their page, did you see that those amenities were not available. We had a long 4 day drip - driving across country - and we chose this hotel because it had a pool and breakfast. We thought we'd have a long morning to relax on our last travel day. But, in fact, we had to leave early as a result.

Unfortunately, when we arrived, their server was down and we had to be walked to our room as they could not give us room cards. The doors had to be opened manually. We were the 4th in line, so we were a bit distracted. We saw the pool closure sign when we walked in, but we did not notice the sign indicating that breakfast would not be served until 6am the next morning when one of us went down for coffee and the lobby was dark and the coffee area closed. The closure was Covid related, and we understand that, but it would have been nice to know upfront. When I took our dog down at 7am, I was surprised to see that coffee was being set up at that point. So it was a bit strange.

Overall, we had a comfortable night. The room was clean. The dishes in the dishwasher were not clean when we arrived, but we ran the washer and all was fine. I'm sure that was just an oversight.
In the end, our dog was very comfortable. He slept well and was happy. And even with these hiccups, so were we. The staff was so nice and handled everything so well. The woman who coordinated the rooms when the server was down was professional, courteous and handled everything so smoothly. Kudos to her for sure!
