Good option, but lots of walking
Aloft Ocean CityNo pet fee, which was nice and unusual for the area. Offseason parking was $10/night. Clean rooms, lovely water views, in a lively hotel. We were on the 2nd floor and could hear the bar’s music until about 10pm, and that was a quiet night. Just something to be aware of if you’re hoping for quiet. Most restaurants nearby were closed for the season, but the 45th St. Taphouse next door is open. Balcony in the room was pet safe and the staff gave us a gift bag with a dog bone and poop bags. Getting to the small pet relief area took a bit of walking which could be tough for older critters.
The grassy pictures you see are not for your pet. The pet area is a small grassy space between the hotel and a business across the parking lot at the side of the hotel. The side door is exit only (no return access), and getting downstairs from just the second floor was 3 fights of stairs. We ended up taking the small main elevator back out the lobby, then around the parking lot. I even asked an employee if I was missing something closer. Nope. Oh, and be careful of the unmarked grate that’s right outside of the pet area that’s most certainly a dangerous hazard for small dog legs.
Spotless & Easy Access to Grassy Areas
Motel 6 Erie PAWe were there for Labor Day Weekend. No fee for pets. Large grassy areas surrounded the hotel. Plenty of room for your pets, and baggies are available. The room itself was spotless. New tub, fresh paint, plenty of clean towels & clean sheets. The only scuff on the carpet I saw was right at the door where it appeared maybe an over-anxious pooch tried to scratch their way outside. No complaints. It's a Motel 6 so plan on bringing your own shampoo, hair dryer and basics (only soap is provided). Walls are a little thin but nothing the AC sound doesn't cover. The area is quiet and felt safe. McDonald's is right in the next parking lot, as well as an Arby's. We'll definitely be back.
Dog Friendly, Walkable, & Clean
La Quinta by Wyndham Virginia BeachThe reviews were right and I’m so grateful for this site! Our room was spotless and quiet. Our dog wore herself out at the beach, which is a short walk away, and then she slept like a log in the room. Okay, we all did. Beds and pillows were super comfy. Our room had a mini fridge and microwave. There’s plenty of free parking, free wi-fi, and a free breakfast in the lobby. There were dog biscuits in the lobby as well, and plenty of green space outside for potty breaks. I felt safe taking my dog out alone at night (in pj’s and slippers - didn’t see a soul). I’d definitely stay here again.
