False Advertising

River's Edge Hotel Portland, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

Disappointed. When we arrived there was no coffee maker or microwave. We asked and were told they were switching hospitality services and we'd have to request one the next day. Eventually we did get one, but it was a whole day later at night. Our room was dirty with lots of pet hair already on the floor. The headboard had slices in it - like someone knifed it. The front desk person wasn't helpful when we asked how to book some excursions. The bathtub/bathroom was nothing like in the pictures, which is why I had first booked that room. My Mobility SERVICE DOG was practically unwelcome. There were other pets staying there too. When asked about where to potty my dog, I was told to walk the train tracks. I found a grassy spot by the waterfront instead. There wasn't any handicap parking or valet available, so I was told to park on the street by the hotel which worked. There wasn't any maid service. Our room was never cleaned and I was told after our stay we had to ask for it. There wasn't any food or restaurant option like they advertised. The restaurant was closed and the spa was closed - which was another reason I booked with them. And, finally, there wasn't a pool even though the online advertising showed one. It was incredibly hot and all we would have liked was to cool off. The AC in the room made it feel like everything was always damp. I was also sad there weren't any dog bags, bowls, treats, or beds to welcome us like other pet friendly hotels usually do. Overall it was kind of a nightmare. I wouldn't stay there again. The falsely advertised and I should get my money back. I would rate them just slightly higher than a motel 6. Even the Best Western we visited on our way up was better! Don't book with them and don't bring your pet. Especially if you have a Mobility Service Dog or are handicapped in any way. Walking train tracks is not safe!
