Decent, friendly place
Best Western Plus Caldwell Inn & SuitesThe staff was friendly and the facility clean, recently renovated on the dog rooms. The pet area outdoors is lacking.
Great
Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Salt Lake City-Airport West an IHG HotelWe used this as an overnight stop on a trip north through Utah, the facility was very nice with a decent restaurant on site. The dog space outside was snow covered (as was Salt Lake City) but it is a decent amount of room.
Not very well maintained
Best Western Rancho GrandeThe room we got had a door that made a loud noise every time it was opened. Room was well worn, but the dog yard was reasonably well kept and had grass which my dog appreciated.
Double booked room
Best Western Plus Twin Falls HotelOur room was double booked. The front desk staff was dismissive about the mix up, and the room keys seem to open any room door. The hotel gave us a double twin bed room not the single king room I had booked. I will not be staying here again.
Clean, friendly, well kept
Expedition LodgeThe facility is clean, the recently remodeled rooms are well Maintained and the staff was friendly. My only gripe would be the lack of a proper pet area. The space on site is basically an unused area at the end of the building. Other than that it was a good stay.
Decent stay
La Quinta Inn by Wyndham CaldwellThis facility is a little worn at the edges but was a decent stay for the area. Dog facility is really quite good. It lacks an off-leash area but makes up for it by having lots of open grass space to take the dogs out walking.
Amazing, stay here
Best Western Plus High Country InnThis hotel was positively amazing. They have individual dog yards allowing off leash play regardless of dog size (<25#, >25#) grass, friendly staff, well maintained rooms, beautiful surroundings, gardens and trails. Couldn’t be better and represents fantastic value for money. Also the restaurant associated is great. Had the steak (above average) and my wife ordered the chicken fried steak which well exceeded our expectations. Moscow mules were also ordered and delivered which met expectations for the drinks. Unusual in Utah in my experience. Stay here if you are stopping anywhere near Ogden
Acceptable overnight only
Ramada by Wyndham ElyThe facility is clean, but lacks any dog amenities like grass to do their business in. I had to walk my dog in a gravel/dirt lot across the highway from the hotel. It’s not optimal, I won’t choose this hotel again.
Last resort
Travelodge by Wyndham Truth or ConsequencesI booked this spot because it was literally the only dog friendly room within a reasonable distance for the night. The facility was clean, but badly run down and the ‘dog area’ was a sandy patch in the corner of the backlot with scrub/thorns throughout. I wouldn’t recommend this spot unless you find yourself in the same situation I was.
Rustic charm
Caboose MotelCute old school motel for an overnight stop. The facility has a distinctly “70’s ski weekend” feel to it, and has good access to services. Lots of grassy area to walk/potty Fido and reasonable priced. The main downside I have it the motel is right next to the highway so lots of noise early in the morning.
Convenient location, reasonable rates
Big Horn LodgeFirst, this hotel is in downtown Moab. If it was anywhere else the rooms would be 1/3 the cost. The facility is older but clean and well maintained. Parking is at a premium, you’ll do best to get in a little early before the lot fills up. The dog facilities are basically non-existent but the hotel is dog friendly. The potty area is a gravel alley behind the hotel. Considering how expensive this town is to stay in, this is a decent choice with easy walking to all the amenities of downtown Moab you are probably there to take advantage of.
