Good Location
Super 8 by Wyndham SavannahRenovated property that is still a bit “rough” around the edges: vanity light not working, sink stopper missing, holes in lamp shade. Nice vinyl floor in hallway and room, good location close to I-95, quiet at night (no road noise) reasonably clean. Good place to walk your dog. Breakfast was minimalistic: cold cereal, mini muffins and white bread for toast and cook your own pancakes if you are in to that. We will most likely not stay here again.

A good night’s stay
Quality Inn & Suites Ashland Near Kings DominionRenovated property that has been well maintained and was extremely clean and tidy. Carpeted rooms and hallways (most pet friendly rooms now have vinyl floors). Bed was extremely comfortable and we had a great night’s sleep. Make sure your room is on the parking lot side of the building as the rooms on the other side back up to I-95 and could be very noisy. Our room on the parking lot side was very quiet. Friendly staff, good place to walk your dog. Breakfast was very good with choices of cold or hot food and fresh fruit.

Stay away
Red Roof Inn Roanoke RapidsWe stayed here because it received 5 stars. Are people blind? The place is OLD and outdated. Breakfast is minimal, at best. We certainly would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

Awesome!
Berkshire Pizzeriaate out on the deck today with 2 friends and Casper, our 7 lb. Maltese. Fantastic food and so friendly. They brought a bowl of water for Casper first! Put this on your list of places to go!

Nice Hotel, a bit "older" than most Hampton Inns
Hampton Inn EmporiaVery pet friendly, no additional pet fee charged. Minimal areas to walk your pet as the area of the hotel is commercially developed. Quiet rooms and a nice grab and go breakfast. Hopefully hot breakfast will return one day soon.
