Nice staff, hot room
Best Western Moriarty Heritage InnHotel was clean and the staff was friendly. But despite setting the room a/c at 72 degrees, in the middle of the night an override kicked in and the room wouldn't cool off. I kept getting up and lowering the temperature but it didn't work. By morning I had lowered the thermostat to 67 but the room was still hot. Hotels have ONE main job, which is to provide a decent night's sleep, and this place failed. Also it was much more expensive than the hotel warranted so a poor value. Won't stop here again.
Comfy hotel
Baymont by Wyndham Albuquerque AirportWe had a great night's sleep here with very comfy beds. The neighborhood is sketch, though. That said, the hotel seemed pretty empty and the noise from adjacent rooms could have been a problem if it had been at higher capacity. We heard every word from the people as they entered the room next door.
Good for the location
Candlewood Suites Conway an IHG HotelEvery hotel in Conway seems to be right next to I-40 so we had a hard time finding something that wouldn't be terribly noisy. This hotel had available pet-friendly rooms that were on the side of the hotel farthest from I-40, so we went with it. The room was fine and wasn't overly loud. An acceptable option for an overnight stopover while driving across the county.
Good convenient hotel
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Oklahoma City -YukonAfter three attempts with the front desk clerk who was argumentative and apparently doesn't know the hotel layout, I was finally able to get an acceptable, quiet room that faced away from the highway. It helped that there was a shift change and the new clerk was helpful and competent. The room was acceptably quiet and the hotel was convenient to restaurants & shops, and a short drive from a wonderful dog park (pets and people).
Very welcoming and comfortable
La Quinta by Wyndham TupeloThe staff is great and the hotel is quiet and convenient. Will definitely stay here again in the future if we're in the area.
Extremely noisy location
La Quinta by Wyndham GallupIf you are searching for a good night's sleep, keep looking. This hotel is located next to a train line and close to I-40. Trains go by several times an hour, and the noise from large heavy trucks fills the gaps. I tried turning on the a/c fan to mask some of the noise but that didn't help with the vibration from all the trains and trucks. Got very little sleep. Gave up at 4:30 am and got back on the road. Also FYI, they are still using the COVID excuse to keep the pool closed and not provide housekeeping services. We were in room 307 facing the front of the hotel which is directly across from the train tracks, but rooms on the back face directly toward I-40 so probably aren't much quieter.
Friendly staff
Comfort Suites Southport - Oak IslandThe staff was really friendly. Room would have been ok except that the AC wouldn't get cool enough at night so I couldn't sleep. Kept lowering the setting and tried high, constant fan, but it didn't help; don't know if there was a programmed over- ride setting or the AC just wasn't working properly but it was definitely above 72 in our room at night. The grassy areas were dried out and mostly brown. Will look elsewhere next time we're in the area.
Oasis in the middle of nowhere
Sleep Inn and Suites ShamrockLocation. The staff was extremely friendly. They were great to our dog. The breakfast was terrible - cold biscuits, egg rounds and sausage. Couldn't eat it.
Very welcoming destination
Best Western Plus Olive Branch Hotel & SuitesArrived at the end of a very long day of driving a moving truck across the country. They were friendly and great with our dog. The room was clean and comfy. Would stay here again.
Cute, clean, friendly, stylish
The Sunset MotelThis old motel has been tastefully updated with period decor and is extremely comfy and a short walk to downtown Brevard. No touch check in/out but we did briefly meet the nice owner. My dog loved this motel and we really appreciate that our room was as nice as all the others and not some being stuck in a crappy dirty "pet" room. The only downside is the occasionally noisy street traffic which could be a problem for light sleepers.
Clean and quiet
Best Western OkmulgeeA bit of a drive from I-40 but clean and well insulated so we didn't hear noise from the adjacent rooms or the road. Beds were comfy. There's a Mexican restaurant on site but we didn't try it.
Dog Friendly rooms are next to I-40
Best Western Discovery InnBooked this hotel based on good BringFido reviews and upon arrival was disappointed to see that it is right off I-40. When I went to check in, I asked for a quiet room as far away from the highway noise as possible. My request was refused because all the dog friendly rooms are on the highway. Fortunately they let me cancel. I didn't see the rooms so maybe they are okay but the location is just not acceptable.
Exceptionally clean with welcoming staff
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham TucumcariAfter a long day of driving, it's so great to arrive at a clean, cozy hotel where the staff is welcoming and happy to greet us and our dogs. We slept so well here in the comfy room and had a good hot breakfast in the morning before we continued our trip. Thanks to the wonderful staff for this oasis in the desert.
