Best Groomer

Perry Paw Spa

Kristy, the owner, is the best groomer we've ever had. I have a senior dog who had never been to the groomer that she treated with respect and love. My oversized Golden puppy also gets lots of cuddles, love, and attention while here. She will do anything to make sure your dog is comfortable. She gives each dog a themed bandana during their visit (and I suspect a treat at the end too!).

Dog Friendly and Delicious, Local Coffee

Perry Perk, L.L.C.

Perry Perk is a local gem in Perry, and we are lucky to have them! This locally owned small business offers delicious treats and frequently features local gifts and craftworks in the store for purchase. So happy my pups can relax outside with me while I sip on delicious drinks!

Lots of space to play on-leash

Rogers Park

Dogs are welcome and allowed to play on-leash. There is a a covered pavilion with picnic tables, and a very large playground, speckled with brand new and very old playground equipment. Personally, I would not let my dog near the older playground equipment, just due to the material and sharpness of it. However, the new stuff is all durable plastic and harmless. This is where Minburn hosts their annual Easter Egg hunt and is available for being rented privately, so make sure to check the city hall's calendar to make sure no one has the space rented before you go.

Beautiful Tribute to Veterans

Dallas County Freedom Rock

The Freedom Rock is a beautiful tribute to Iowa's veterans, specifically Dallas County veterans. There is a bench to sit and relax while you take in the artwork, as well as signs posted throughout where you can learn about them. An interesting, quick, free stop for those traveling through the area.

Best Park for Dogs in Minburn

Meek Park

This small triangular shaped park has so many things to do - horseshoes, free skating rink, free seasonal concerts, a covered picnic area, multiple water fountains, and even a public, tiny community garden. They do the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony and 4th of July celebration here every year as well. Dogs are welcome at all, appreciated by many, and will get lots of love from people during events. When utilizing it for dog walks, you may have a firefighter from the nearby fire station, or a trucker at the nearby trucking company, pop out and say hello and want to pet your dog. Be warned though, they mean business about keeping the grassy lawn free from dog waste. The park is monitored by surveillance cameras, and you will be ticketed if you do not clean up after your pet.
