One bad apple didn't ruin the stay

Best Western Plus Renton Inn

After a long day of flights and driving, we arrive at the hotel around 1am. I walk inside, exhausted, and see there's a sign on the desk "we will be back shortly." Okay, cool. I wait maybe 2-5 minutes looking around for someone to check me in, the back room lights are off and I can't locate an employee. I give the front desk a call, hoping someone answers...what do you know, someone walks out of the dark room looking like I just interrupted their evening. I say "it's me calling, I'm just trying to check in" to which I get a "ya I know, you weren't even waiting that long," with an eye roll. I let the he/she with painted nails and long hair know I've been traveling and want to go to bed, no need to be rude. He/she switched up their attitude and proceeded to check me in, so thanks.

But hold on I'm sorry..."you weren't waiting that long" tells me you sat in that room and knowingly watched me look around for assistance and proceeded to be rude. So check in, horrible experience. I call in the morning and ask for a late check-out, and this same night shift person agreed...so I thought. We were trying to get some more sleep and room service is knocking on the door telling us we should be out, it's past checkout. I call down and finally someone new is working. I let the nice lady know we requested a late checkout and to please honor that. She let us stay a couple hours longer, to that kind lady, I appreciate you. I let her know how I was treated and she apologized and said she'd let management know about how I was treated.

If it weren't for the kind lady apologizing on the night person's behalf, this would be one bone. Rooms were fine, nothing wrong with them, your basic hotel. Lots of dogs, so yes, dog friendly. Just make sure the night shift person gets some customer service training.
