Great stay
Strawberry Valley InnLike the old days. Happy hour with glasses of wine, great bed, quiet room, good location, and continental breakfast included.

Terrible
Gaia Hotel & Spa Redding Ascend Hotel CollectionYou can tell it was once a nice place, but not anymore. Loud people above, no phone in room to complain (it didn’t work), so I had to find their number and called from my cell, three times, over ten minutes, and finally walked up front. The young lady was just standing there and I told her about the noise and about trying to call her and she didn’t say they were busy, her excuse was sometimes the phone system doesn’t work. So I called while she was talking and it rang and she picked up and answered like normal, then realizing it was me. Then I find out the restaurant is closed; rented out for the night. I also asked about arranging for a massage after driving all day; you have to arrange 24 hours in advance. My wife and I walked around in the morning and came across the pool and jacuzzi, my card key didn’t work, yet there was a person inside. Grounds were sketchy. Room was ok except no carpeting, which was cold on the feet in the morning. Mattresses were poor.
