Excellent customer service

The room was clean and cozy. The bed was comfy and aside from some noisy people upstairs it was a good night's sleep.

Horrible experience

We arrived at the hotel only to be informed that they had sold our prepaid room. We were given the option to cancel at 11:30 pm or to wait for a room to be “cleaned”, which would not be a king but two doubles. We chose to wait only to discover their idea of clean was to change the sheets. It was not vacuumed, there were pills on the floor, peanuts, and mud spots. The television was not hooked up (I fixed it) and the toilet chain was not attached (my friend fixed it). There were incense and dryer sheets stuffed into the AC vents. Two lights did not have working light bulbs. There was a large tear in the carpet. The room was clearly not clean.

The front desk employee did not seem to care that I had already paid for the king room, which was what I had reserved. He did not offer any alternatives for lodging except the dirty room. I asked him if I was expected to sleep in my car if I did not accept the dirty room. I will not be returning to Red Roof Inn in Dickinson, ND. In the past this was my go-to place when I travel to visit family, but no more.
