HAD SOME GOOD DAYS HERE, BUT ALSO HAD SOME BAD ONES, ONE OF WHICH RESULTED IN A TRIP TO THE ER FROM A DOG BITE- THE OWNER LEFT IMMEDIATELY WITHOUT GIVING CONTACT INFO. My dog is not much more than 30 lb, very soft in personality (springer spaniel) and un-neutered, so maybe he just invites aggressive behavior from other dogs. Either way, two different days now he basically got jumped with 5+ dogs all swarming him and a few taking turns mounting, biting and jumping on him. Both times I waited but eventually had to go in and push the other dogs away and fish him out and both times the other owners just passively watched from a distance. The second time, as I waded into the frey, ONE OF THEIR DOGS CAME RIGHT AT ME, STARTED NIPPING AGGRESSIVELY, AND THEN BIT MY HAND- I HAD TO GO THE THE ER. MY HAND WAS COVERED IN BLOOD AND THE OWNER LEFT IMMEDIATELY AND BASICALLY SAID IT WAS MY FAULT-NO CONTACT INFO, NO IDEA IF HIS DOG IS VACCINATED (LARGE GOLDEN LAB, MIDDLE AGED WHITE MAN). I guess he was afraid of a law suit- I'm definitely not interested in bringing one, but would really love to know if his dog has been vaccinated for rabies! I guess the takeaway is that there is significant risk here. I'm guessing most owners here have control of their dogs and are concerned about safety/etiquette, but there are obviously some bad apples.

Nice newly renovated park with lots of wood chip mulch for the dogs to run around in

Just went by and the dog park is under construction. No signs for completion date.

There are two separate areas for large and small dogs. Dirt surface with trees, tables, benches, and water. Gets messy around the water area and after a rain. We went on a hot day and only large dogs were out playing. There was a smell coming from the full trash cans at the entrance and we had to walk past swarms of bumble bees to enter the dog areas. The fence surrounding the dog areas seemed to be well maintained as did other areas of the park. Parking was available but it is hard to find when the park is busy.

We walked up and the smell hit me! So awful...urine, urine, urine! I did stay for about 20 mins just to let my dogs run around. I didn't see anyone clean up after their dog. And there was a frying pan for them to drink out of.
Don't waste your time stopping here. - PamMore than a year agoNeeds work
I am a regular at this park and I am tired of spending my money along with some others to keep the dog park from being muddy . It is a wonderful place for the dogs but unless you continue to call and complain nothing is ever completed. They put in some new benches and a fountain that should be in a small dog park not a large one. We continue to have to bring bowls and fill them with water so the big dogs can get enough water. There is a leak in the fountain that was just put in that makes the area around it a mess. We bring pine straw to help with that;. There is poison ivy along the fence line that it we don't call and complain about it never would get addressed. Funny thing that the ball field is getting a complete new face lift. They tore everything down are rebuilding. We are not asking for that just a few things to make it nicer
- RatsMore than a year agoNah, I'm good
Pretty large. Lots of trees, squirrels to be chased. Ground covered with wood chips. Poopy pickup bags, water hose and bowl supplied. Plenty of spare tennis balls left behind. Everything you need in a dog park, right? Wait for it..
Unfortunately the pet owners are less than savory. They're nothing but a bunch of desperate housewives and recent divorcees looking for sugar babies. They come here to socialize themselves more than their dogs, and you're the weirdo when you don't actively seek conversation with them.
Once I watched a group of women, many of whom were regulars, stand back and laugh as one of their dogs went around humping others in the park. They couldn't have cared less. I was already fed up with the place at this point but that was the final straw. Just a teensy example of the type of nasty these people are. Haven't been back since. Save yourself.

This was a perfect stop along our trip route north. The park was nice and large. Would definitely recommend for families with dogs!
