there are 5 miles of trails to take the dogBeautiful wide open Spaces also. Make sure to spray yourself with the bug repellent and that your dog is on heartworm prevention as the mosquitoes are biting!

We stopped here because everyone said it was dog friendly. it was great. People were very nice and we took the 20 min history tour which was interesting and gave my pup a walk. Definitely a perfect stop!
- SarahJul 27, 2022Too many ticks
Was excited to bring our heeler on our vacation and find so many activities and restaurants that she is welcome at. The fort was awesome except for the ticks. Omg, our group of 4 came back with literally hundreds of tiny ticks all over us. It completely negated any enjoyment spent here.
- ShondaJun 3, 2021Worth the visit
The grounds are expansive, and we found plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the cultural exhibits and the gorgeous live oaks. The ranger and master gardener we spoke to were incredibly friendly and seemed pleased with our questions. the ranger was also great with our dogs, insisting they stop by for a treat before leaving.
- NicholasMay 10, 2021Pretty park with beautiful mossy trees
The park is decent sized with lots of moss covered trees to walk under for shade. Dogs are allowed most everywhere (not in the buildings). The Ranger even had a milkbone for our pup. They have 2 poop stations if you forget bags. B.A.R.K. Ranger program was on hold due to revamping their program, so that was unfortunate timing for us.
Just be aware that ticks can be found, we didn't find any on the dog but one on us.
