Higgins Beach

Higgins Beach is a dog-friendly beach in Scarborough, ME, that allows pups on and off leash at different times. From May 15 through Labor Day, dogs on and off leash are permitted on the beach before 9 AM, and dogs on leash only are allowed after 5 PM. Canines are prohibited in the restricted beach area between Champion St and the Spurwink River from April 1 through Labor Day. During the off-season (after Labor Day to May 14), pups are allowed on the beach under voice control at any time except between 1 PM and 3 PM, when a leash is required.
