Jango loves hiking, carrots and toys that squeak. A resident of Meridian Canine Rescue in Meridian, ID, he’s a very low-key dog who likes his personal space, but also enjoys a good belly rub. He even responds to basic training commands like sit, stay and shake.

Once Jango is a member of your pack, let him run free at Storey Bark Park, the city’s top-rated dog park. This 2-acre, fully fenced, off-leash dog park offers separate areas for large and small pups, shade shelters and doggy drinking fountains.

If you’re interested in bringing this quiet guy home, fill out an inquiry on Meridian Canine Rescue’s website. The standard adoption fee is $300.

Meridian Canine Rescue is a non-profit, no-kill rescue committed to finding loving homes for homeless and surrendered dogs. Thanks to the tireless efforts of a dedicated staff and volunteers, the rescue has coordinated over 2,500 successful adoptions.

Indio is a playful Pit Bull Terrier mix who gets along great with the other rescue dogs at No Hound Unhomed in Colorado Springs, CO. Brimming with energy, he enjoys running free and engaging in goofball antics when he’s not learning how to sit on command. Fans of the outdoors can easily turn him into a loyal hiking partner.

After Indio has joined your clan, take him on the first of many adventures at nearby Seven Falls. View majestic waterfalls, hike canyon trails and soak in stunning vistas overlooking the city. If Indio is okay with stairs, he can join the winding ascension to Inspiration Point. If stairs are too challenging, take the dog-friendly elevator to Eagles Nest to enjoy panoramic views of the falls.

Dean is a sweet senior dog who can brighten any home. Currently residing at Dolly’s Legacy Animal Rescue in Lincoln, NE, this 8-year-old Chocolate Labrador was found abandoned at a “dumping site” in Texas. He’s a gentle soul who loves people, playing with other pups and snoozing in the sun.

After making Dean a member of your fur family, you can take him to Paws 4 Fun, Nebraska’s first indoor dog park. Pups can chase tennis balls, race through tunnels and test out the agility equipment spread across 12,000 square feet of recreation space.

If you’d like to open your arms and doors to Dean, go here. The adoption fee is $375.

Dolly’s Legacy Animal Rescue is named after a Pekingese pup rescued from a neglectful breeder a decade ago. Founded in 2013 on what would’ve been Dolly’s 14th birthday, the shelter has spent countless hours over the years ensuring orphaned and stranded dogs are given a second chance.
