New Dog Parks and Pet-Friendly Attractions: November 2022

Dogue
Food for dogs isn’t an afterthought at Dogue, it's the only thought. Golden City’s hippest new hangout for hounds invites pups to choose a healthy snack from the Pawtisserie menu accompanied by a Dogguccino, or sit down at the Bone Appetit Cafe on Sundays for a tasting meal just for dogs (but fit for humans). If you’re struggling with a doggie diet dilemma, Dogue has you covered with to-go meal plans that are tailored to your dogs’ age, weight, activity level and special needs, each portioned out for your convenience.
After dinner, take the “pawty” to Noe's Nest Bed and Breakfast. This pet-friendly B&B is a short stroll away from Upper Douglass Dog Play Area.
Ruff Draft
Located in the Cargo District, Ruff Draft is Wilmington’s first dog park bar. This brand-new off-leash dog park with a full-service bar aims to make Fido’s “ruff days get better.” The facility provides an 11,000-square-foot, fully fenced outdoor play area with an inviting green space, a dog wash station and a smaller fenced space for dogs who prefer to roam in peace. During a “paws” in play, head inside through the garage doors to order yourself a local brew and grab your pooch a Good Boy IPA Lot in the Yard or Good Girl Tail Chasin’ Blonde made from protein broth and other healthy ingredients. While humans always play for free, dogs can get a day pass for $8, a monthly pass for $30 and an annual pass for $150.
Book a room with a river view at the nearby Best Western Plus Coastline Inn. Dogs and their owners are assigned rooms on the ground floor for easy access to the outside space.
Scenthound
Not all dog breeds require regular grooming, but they do all need essential care like bathing, ear cleaning, nail trimming and dental routines. Scenthound aims to make this care affordable and accessible for all pet parents. The success of the flagship store located at The Village at Lee Branch in Birmingham has led to the opening of a second Scenthound location across town in Mountain Brook. If you live in The Magic City, sign your furry best friend up for a monthly membership, starting at $35, which includes a range of services from basic hygiene packages to hair cuts and more.
Continue to pamper your pooch at Aloft Birmingham Soho Square, where he’ll receive a goody bag at check-in.
PUCCI Cafe
PUCCI Cafe brings the pet-friendly attitude and flavors of Europe to Katy. Following the success of the company’s online store, PUCCI has opened the doggy doors to its boutique store and restaurant, which caters to canines and humans alike. Start with off-leash fun at the store’s fenced play area, then step out with your Scottie onto the multi-level dog-friendly patio that overlooks Cinco Ranch Lake. Enjoy lip-smacking snacks like pastries, charcuterie boards and items for Fido from the dedicated dog menu. Before you leave, check out the high-end swag available in the boutique store. PUCCI Cafe donates a portion of its sales to dog rescue organizations.
After you fill up Fido’s pup cup at PUCCI, wander the trails next to Element Houston Katy and enjoy a good night’s rest together.
Martin Family Dog Park
Make your way to Martin Family Dog Park in Elma, WA, and meet other mutts at play. What started as a desire to build a giant flagpole and pavilion, expanded to include a fenced space for dogs to play off-leash, too. Dedicated to local community members Bill and Joan Martin, the park is open to the public daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m and is free to visit. The area includes a water bowl filling station, benches, trash receptacles and a fire hydrant for Fido.
Enjoy an affordable night at nearby Stay Beyond Inn & Suites. Pups can stroll around the grassy relief area before taking a snooze in a room with a view.
SouthSide Works Dog Park
Pittsburgh pups will love spending an afternoon at the new SouthSide Works Dog Park, and their owners will want to stay even longer when they see the mobile taproom on the premises. Levity Brewing, a local independent brewery, provides six beers on tap for humans to enjoy on the open-air patio. Inside the fenced park, visitors can gather under shady trees and watch pups run and play on the agility equipment.
Reserve a river view room at Sheraton Pittsburgh Hotel at Station Square near a selection of Steel City’s finest pet-friendly eateries.
Oddstory Brewing Co.
Oddstory Brewing Co. has been a downtown Chattanooga staple since 2016 when it first started serving its take on lagers, pale ales, and stouts to the people of “Scenic City.” However, the lively and popular brewery has now outgrown its original location and moved to a bigger space in order to accommodate more brews, people and pups, too. The new spot has a huge beer garden with 10,000 square feet of outdoor space for leashed dogs to explore and a bigger bar with even more beers on tap.
Sleep off the good times at Moxy Chattanooga Downtown. This popular pet-friendly hotel provides canine guests with treats and bowls at check-in.
