AVOID SINGAPORE AIRLINE AT ALL COST!!

I spent hours trying to book the seat for my cat for a flight I booked. On their website, they say that cat as cargo or checked baggage can be ok. However, they gave me numbers to the cargo that all don't work - the NYC one is not existing and I called a NJ one myself they say it doesn't take personal flight booking and ask me to contact Singapore airline again, but Singapore airline ask me to contact them! Someone from their reservation email me asking me to call South African office, who confirms again that it does not work this way and not sure why they are contacted because my flight is from USA to Germany. It's crazy! Hours of contact and nowhere can book cargo for my pet! Then I find out cargo and luggage are probably two things, so I asked customer support but they say only cargo?? But my cat is small and cargo is only for very big animals!! So are you saying cannot travel as luggage that you clearly indicated that you can travel with luggage on your official website?? Then the person changed his words and say it was wrong information you can carry the pet?? WTF?? I have not solved the problem but I will come back and follow up. NOBODY IN SINGAPORE AIRLINES IS DOING THEIR JOB IN HELPING TO CARRY ANIMALS ON BOARD!! AT LEAST 10 HOURS FROM ME ARE WASTED FROM THIS AND AFFECTED MY TRIP1!

    Offloaded Pet without informing us

My cat was travelling Singapore airlines from the UK to Singapore. Because of COVID restrictions, we used a reputable agent in the UK. The last update we received was at check-in when the agent dropped her with Singapore Airlines.

When we went to pick her up, we were told she hadn't arrived and she wasn't on the plane! Singapore airlines bumped her off but did not inform the agent or us. From Singapore, I called the ground staff in the UK who were nice enough to tell me.

    I won't use them again.

Be careful about "special feature" of Singapore airlines.

On their site on 'Connections, transshipments and transits' page is specified:

Note that we do not accept pets from other airlines on all our flights.

    ---
By simple words, if flight has 2 parts, say - first one operated by Lufthanza (which allows travel with pet) and second one operated by Singapore airlines (which also allows travel with pet), then you CANNOT travel with pet.
