No Room at the Inn

We booked in Aug for Dec 31 and Jan 1 and received an email confirmation. When we arrived on Dec 31 after a 4 hour drive, we found we were not expected and the Inn was rented out to a family. The staff found us a room but it was like intruding on a private family event so we would be confined to it and the room was too small for the dogs to even lie down. The owner texted and tried to offer options - stay at Best Western for Dec 31 (not our idea of the idyllic evening we had hoped for, and never easy with the dogs) then stay an extra night (not possible with our work schedules). In the end we just drove
the 4 hours straight back home in the dark and had our worst ever New Years Eve! I hope everyone enjoys their stay there with their pups but I STRONGLY STRONGLY recommend you call and confirm your booking verbally to avoid our nightmare.
