STAY AWAY

SureStay Hotel by Best Western Manning

First of all - the hotel itself is nice - older but being upgraded. The issue I have is with the poor customer service of the front desk and Best Western. My issue is that the motel won't honor Best Western rewards. I provided my rewards number when I booked the reservation. When I checked in I was told I can't use the rewards membership because I didn't book through Best Western directly and that I can add directly through Best Western website. Well, I tried that and was told that my stay doesn't qualify since I booked through BringFido. I have used BF other times to book stays at other chains and I ALWAYS got credit for the stay. When I was trying to check out, I was also told that if I wanted a paper receipt that I had to wait ten minutes for it - no option to have it emailed either. Bad customer service!

Great Hotel

La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Aberdeen-Apg

Having 2 large dogs, we frequent the La Quinta chain a lot while traveling. This was one of the better ones! Our room was very clean and big - large enough to set up 2 large dog crates. Our room had tile (nice faux wood and not industrial tile) which made it much nicer with the dogs. The facility was clean too - although the dog area is not large, there are grassy areas surrounding the property that you can use. We didn't see any dog droppings - which is nice since we've experienced this quite a lot at other La Quinta's. There a many fast food and fuel options in the area also. Nice option if you are traveling along Interstate 95 in the middle Atlantic.

Dog Friendly in Macon!

La Quinta by Wyndham Macon West

This is one of the nicer La Quintas in the chain. We had one of the deluxe King suites which was enormous. Lots of places to walk your dog on the property. We did not partake of the free breakfast because we decided to sleep in past 9am (ha ha). Only complaint is that people didn't pick up after their dogs. This is unfortunate since it makes the property look "cheap" and unkempt. La Qunita should have someone clean up a few times a week to help with this issue. (Of course it would be nice if the patrons actually cared enough to pick up after their dogs.)

Great Dog Friendly Hotel in Loudon

La Quinta by Wyndham Loudon

This is one of the nicer La Quintas in the chain. The staff had no issues with our dog and even chatted up with us since the check-in person has a dog with the same name as ours. We had one of the deluxe King suites which was enormous. It was right next to the elevator - which we feared would be loud but it wasn't. I think we heard the elevator once.

We Loved This Hotel

Western Front Hotel

What a gem in the mountains of Virginia. The Western Front hotel is very charming, very dog friend, and great place to spend the weekend. The rooms are large and comfortable. We have the deluxe king room which was more of a suite than a room. The hotel is very dog friendly with a large grassy area out back to exercise your pup. The downtown area of St. Paul is very walkable with several businesses also being dog friend. We highly recommend!

So so

Days Inn by Wyndham Spartanburg

I'll break out my review into pros and cons as it is easier:

Pros:

Location - not far off I-85 and close to shopping and chain restaurants. Plenty of grassy areas on and near the hotel property for dog walking. Dog friendly rooms apparently have tile instead of carpet - which is great for dogs - unless you have a dog that is elderly and can't walk on tile... All outside room entrances which makes it easier for taking your dog out. I understand that all pet rooms are also first floor. Shower works awesome lots of water pressure. Our room also had a jacuzzi tub but with Covid, we were afraid to use it.

Cons:
Property manager had no idea who or what Bring Fido is and get rather rude when I challenged him about the pet fee. Apparently Bring Fido is incorrect. The rooms are dated and not the prettiest - but then again this is a dog friendly hotel. There was large scratches on the wall from previous pet damage. Our room was tile which is nice for a dog BUT not when your dog is elderly and can't walk on tile. Luckily we had some carpet remnants in our vehicle that we used to create walking space for our dog. Room was LOUD - we were right by the utility room and there was constant noise. Room is not dark - there is a light right outside each room that basically illuminates the room. I know this is an outdoor entrance hotel but maybe have better and longer blinds.

Warning - Private!

Cochran Hill Dog Run

BE warned this is a private park. Not suited for people visiting the city. In my opinion this shouldn’t even be on Bring Fido.. would give zero stars if I could.
