Tired Run-Down Property
Days Inn by Wyndham St Augustine/Historic DowntownThe property owners certainly tried to fix this place up - - new(er) furnishings, fresh paint, etc. but there is no escaping that this is a tired old motel. Minimal grass or plantings, mostly a sea of asphalt. Property staff were all very nice, and having a Denny's on-site is convenient, but I will never stay here again.
Perfect Location in DC, Terrific Property
The River InnThe River Inn is located in Washington's "West End" near Foggy Bottom Metro, a short walk to Georgetown, as well as a short walk to upper Connecticut Avenue , Dupont Circle and other choice destinations. The property itself is lovely - - formerly an apartment building, now rehabbed and converted to premium lodging in a premium neighborhood. This was one of the nicest places we stayed in our trip from New England to Florida. Excellent service and warm hospitality. Nice restaurant in premises.
Nice Property, Great Hospitality
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Univ Area Chapel HillLa Quinta Inn & Suites Durham Chapel Hill is the nicest property we stayed in, in our trip from to RI to FL and return. The property itself is immaculate, the rooms are in perfect repair and up-to-date. This is a "find", and it's worth going out of your way to stay here.
Poor Value, Tired & Worn Property
Candlewood Suites Savannah Airport an IHG HotelI was very disappointed in my stay at Candlewood Suites Savannah Airport. While I would classify it as a "budget value" property, and did not have luxury property expectations, I was disappointed to find that when I opened the door to my room I was hit with overwhelming mildew odor and the sound of the bathroom fan. I arrived late in the evening after a 7 hour drive, so I just opted to try to live with it by opening the window. I then realized the bathroom fan was probably left running by the cleaning staff in an attempt to address the mildew problem. By morning I was coughing as though I had smoked a pack of cigarettes, and I have been sick for the 5 days since my stay. In addition to the mildew, there were gouges in the walls, the toilet wouldn't stop running, and the rug was dirty. The room is equipped with a system that turns off the HVAC when the room is empty, which is probably how the mildew problem started and continues to thrive. All in all - - one of the worst lodging experiences I've had in 20+ years of travel.
Great location, terrific staff, nice place!
Holiday Inn Baltimore BWI Airport an IHG HotelWe had a wonderful stay the BWI Airport Holiday Inn. The staff front desk, managers, servers and housekeeping staff were are all very welcoming and helpful. Everyone was welcoming of both me and my canine companion, and I consistently received friendly caring service for encounters. I was actually almost sorry to leave and continue on my road trip to Florida. The facility, my room, public areas and restaurant were all spotless, and in perfect up-to-date condition. I highly recommend this hotel!
