Outstanding!
St. Augustine Fish CampBest meal during our St. Augustine trip - exceptional service, mouthwatering menu that is very well executed, praiseworthy prices…and dog friendly to boot?!?! Want to go back again as soon as I can!
Grumpy Hostess, Lackluster Food
The Reef RestaurantThe young hostess was pretty rude when seating us - patio was completely empty and yet she grumbled about having given our table away because we were 10 minutes late for our reservation (to whom???). Our waiter gave us a rictus smile only when delivering the check at the end - otherwise got the impression he wasn’t happy that we asked him to bring the pups water. The other (woman) server who worked the tables that filled in eventually around us was much more friendly. Food was really not even worth mentioning - regretted having a meal there since we are in St. Augustine only for a few days.
High Pet Fee, Inflexible
Residence Inn by Marriott Santa Barbara GoletaWas planning to stay here on my road trip to SoCal, once on the way down and then a couple of days later again on the way back up. Asked if they were willing to waive ONE of the $150 per stay pet fee for my small (less than 20 pound) dog since we are staying twice within a span of a few days. Was told no because they “bomb the rooms and deep clean the carpets and to a special treatment of the rooms after every stay.” I’m willing to bet $150 they DON’T do this after every stay. Will find somewhere else more flexible and lower fees.
Great space to eat with your pup
Picante Cocina Mexicanaspacious outdoor area both under tent and in the sun, plenty of space
between tables. easy to eat with your dog because you order from a kiosk on the sidewalk or or at the outdoor table area, and then they bring your order out to you. the food was tasty and good portions, yummy agua frescos. will be back!
Nice grounds but policy is impractical
The Westin La Paloma Resort and SpaOn the plus side: lots of doggy waste stations around the beautiful grounds and areas for you to walk your pup around (if the weather is cooperating). Staff are very welcoming of dogs. The main drawback is that their policy does not allow the dog to be left alone in the room at all - even if in a crate. That seems impractically restrictive. Can’t even eat poolside or outside the restaurant with your pup, so can’t even grab a bite unless you seek out a restaurant in town that allows dogs.
