Best Dog-Friendly Brewery

Missouri may be the home of brewing behemoth Budweiser, but it’s a smaller operation that wins the big prize for best pet-friendly brewery in The Show-Me State. Bring your easygoing canine to Casual Animal Brewing Co. in Kansas City to curl up on one of the rugs inside while you sample a small batch beer made fresh, like the Brainy Yak Oatmeal IPA or Fluffle Kerfuffle Carrot Cake Porter. From the hanging baskets that dangle from the huge skylight to the bold original art on the walls, this hip joint is so comfortable and stylish you may end up staying for another. As an added bonus, Casual Animal donates $2 from every draft beer sold to local nonprofits.

Walk back to Hampton Inn and Suites Kansas City Downtown Crossroads for a comfortable night close to all the action.

Kayaks are available for rent, and fishing is permitted near Lake Shelter. Before you call it a day, stop by the natural blue water of Ha Ha Tonka Spring and snap a photo for Fido’s Instagram.

Once you’re back at camp, pick up hot dogs or a burger to share from the on-site restaurant, Paddler’s Bar & Grill, and enjoy a campfire at your tent, RV, or cabin.
