Tumbled Rock Brewery & Kitchen in Baraboo is ready to host you and your dog for an unforgettable afternoon of pets and pints. Located by the entrance to Devil’s Lake State Park, home to a canine swimming beach and miles of pet-friendly trails, there’s no better place to stop for a toast to The Badger State. Combine a flagship brew like The Dutch Farmer lager with homestyle food made with a modern twist, before continuing your adventure in the park.

Stay in the park and camp with your canine at Devils Lake State Park Campground.

Most Dog-Friendly State Park

Sturgeon Bay, in the center of the Door Peninsula, offers an array of activities on and around Lake Michigan for humans and canines. A highlight for hounds is the designated dog beach at Whitefish Dunes State Park, which is accessible by a short hike along the shaded Red Trail. After your dog digs in the sand and splashes in the surf, you can tackle several other trails throughout Wisconsin's most dog-friendly state park together.

Swim in Sturgeon Bay or lounge in the sun with your pup at Beach Harbor Resort. Furry friends can join you on the water with one of the resort’s kayaks or stand-up paddle boards, and dine with you on the patio of the resort restaurant, Waterfront Mary’s.

Most Dog-Friendly Attraction

Planning a pet-friendly boat tour in The Badger State? Dells Boat Tours in the Wisconsin Dells offers two pet-friendly excursions that explore the five-mile gorge surrounded by epic sandstone cliffs. The Lower Dell Tour takes tourists on an expedition through the wider section of the river and rock formations like the Baby Grand Piano, Hawk‘s Bill, and the Rocky Islands. The Upper Dell Tour stops along the way for Fido to stretch his legs in the Witches Gulch. This gives you a chance to admire the rocky landscape up close and watch a phenomenon called the Witches Bathtub in action. The other highlight of Wisconsin’s most dog-friendly attraction is a specially trained dog who leaps between two cliffs at Stand Rock.

Most Dog-Friendly Campground

Two enclosed dog parks, one on each end of the campground, would normally be enough to top the list of pet-friendly campgrounds in Wisconsin, but Al’s Fox Hill RV Park and Campground goes above and beyond. A dog pond will give your pup a place to cool off after running in the dog park, exploring two miles of nature trails, or hiking at Devil’s Lake State Park. In the evening, relax in one of the many hammocks scattered throughout the campground, including at the dog park, or catch a movie on the big screen by the community campfire. Pets of any size are welcome for no additional fee.

Best Dog Park

Kaukauna Dog Park, the best dog park in Wisconsin, encompasses 13 acres with three grassy areas to explore. In addition to a small dog section, the park contains a large fenced space with fields to run in, and a separate fenced-in pond for doggie paddlers. Get your steps in by walking Fido on the trail around the pond, or take a seat at one of the benches that overlook the water. Dogs who prefer an evening stroll can still enjoy the park thanks to the well-lit trails.

Planning an RV camping trip with your canine? Book a site at Apple Creek Campground and take Fido on a woodland walk next to a creek.

Home to a variety of pet-friendly trails, Devil’s Lake State Park is Wisconsin’s largest state park. Take everyone’s favorite route to the water on Devil’s Lake via West Bluff Trail. This top trail to hike with your dog in Wisconsin leads to giant rock formations, sublime lake views, and down to the water. Pups are permitted at the on-leash pet swim area and can join you on beaches around the lake, too. Devil’s Lake Via West Bluff Trail is a loop under five miles and is rated moderately difficult due to rocky terrain in patches.

Devils Lake State Park Campground is one of the best pet-friendly state park campgrounds in the country. Chill out after a day of hiking in your spacious tent site with a fire ring.
