Comanche Lookout Park Comanche Lookout Park is a 96-acre recreational area in San Antonio, TX. Fido is welcome to explore the 4.55 miles of pet-friendly, multi-service trails with you but must remain on a leash. See Details
Pet Friendly White Sands National Park
White Sands National Park Fido is welcome to explore the extremely rare gypsum sand dunes at White Sands National Park in Alamogordo, NM. Dogs are permitted as long as they are on a leash no longer than 6', cleaned up after, given lots of water, and never left unattended. Dogs are not allowed inside White Sands' visitor center. Admire the expanse of sparkling sand and panoramic mountain views by hiking the pet-friendly Alkali Flat Trail. This sandy trail is well-marked but does not have any shade. Visitors should plan to hike the trail in Spring, Autumn, or in the early morning and evening if visiting in summertime. Carry plenty of water for yourself and Fido. See Details
Saugatuck Dunes State Park A day-use park along a secluded strip of the dog-friendly Lake Michigan shoreline, Saugatuck Dunes State Park offers 2.5 miles of shoreline. The park has freshwater coastal dunes that are over 200 feet tall. The terrain varies from steep slopes to rolling hills. Leashed dogs are welcome but not permitted in buildings or public swimming areas. However, a pet swim area is located a half mile from the parking lot via the Yellow Trail. Your furry friend must always be on a six-foot leash and under an owner’s immediate control. See Details
Buttermilk Falls State Park Dog-friendly Buttermilk Falls State Park in Ithaca, NY has plenty for you and your pup to explore. The upper park features a lake, woodland and gorge hiking trails, picnic areas, and playing fields. The lower park features the campground, pool, playing fields and a nature trail. Leashed dogs are welcome throughout the park with the exception of swimming areas. Some campsites and cabins also permit dogs. See Details
Pitt Street Railroad Bridge Pitt Street Railroad Bridge in Mount Pleasant, SC, is an old railroad causeway that used to connect Mount Pleasant to Sullivan's Island. The city planted grass and palm trees, and it is a beautiful pet-friendly place to walk your dog and watch the sunset. There are pet waste stations and a water fountain for people and dogs. Windmill Island Gardens Windmill Island Gardens in Holland, MI, is dog friendly! Leashed pups are allowed to explore the Gardens, with the exception of the windmill and gift shop, due to food processing. Visiting dog owners must clean up after their pets. Tarkiln Bayou Preserve State Park Dogs are welcome at Tarkiln Bayou Preserve State Park in Pensacola, FL. The park stretches 4,000 acres and is home to a number of rare and endangered plants. You can bring Fido with you to enjoy the Tarkiln Bayou Trail, meandering through prairie, cypress and titi forests, and leading to a scenic view of the Bayou; and the Perdido Bay Trail, a more difficult 6.5-mile trail that leads to beaches and weaves through oaks and pines. Along the dog-friendly trails, you might be able to sneak a peek of some migratory birds, white tailed deer, raccoon or bobcat. There are numerous benches and picnic tables around the park and along the trails to enjoy a spot of lunch with Spot the dog. See Details
Devil's Hopyard State Park Taking its name from the round holes that appear in the waterfalls, dog-friendly Devil's Hopyard State Park in East Haddam, CT is a perfect place to enjoy a day in nature. Congaree National Park Bring Fido to the dog-friendly Congaree National Park in Hopkins, SC. This picturesque recreation area allows pets to wander all trails, including the boardwalk. The trails vary between easy short trails and a couple of longer trails that are over 10 miles in a loop. All pets must be on a leash under six feet and under their owner's control at all times. Fort de Soto County Park Fort De Soto County Park is a dog-friendly state park in Tierra Verde, FL. Escape to the white sands and crystal clear waters of this popular 1,136 acre park. There are 15 picnic shelters, restrooms, fishing piers, playgrounds, and several trails to enjoy with your leashed pup. There's also a fenced dog park and a designated dog beach area. Vicksburg National Military Park Vicksburg National Military Park in Mississippi is pet friendly. This park preserves the site of the American Civil War Battle of Vicksburg and commemorates the greater Vicksburg Campaign, which led up to the battle. Pulgas Ridge Open Space Preserve Pulgas Ridge Open Space Preserve is a dog-friendly park in Redwood City, CA. Take your pet for an on-leash hike throughout this large, lovely nature preserve, or let them run free in the 17.5-acre area located in the center of the preserve, accessible from the Cordilleras Trail, Polly Geraci/Hassler Trails and the Blue Oak Trail. Be careful as the area is fenced and signed at entrances, but there is no fencing around the off-leash area. Dogs must be on a leash when outside of the off-leash area. See Details
Table Rock State Park Leashed dogs are welcome at Table Rock State Park, a pet-friendly park in Branson, MO. Dogs are not allowed in the historic buildings or public swimming areas and beaches. Guests staying at the campgrounds are limited to having two dogs per campsite unless an exemption is obtained in advance from the park service. Table Rock State Park offers visitors to Branson and their pets an opportunity to explore the many nature trails that the park has to offer. Thunderbird Conservation Park Thunderbird Conservation Park, a 1,185-acre park in the Hedgpeth Hills, is a conservation area dedicated to preserving the desert environment in Glendale, AZ. It is pet-friendly and park activities include picnicking, hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, jogging and bird watching. About 15 miles of multi-use, dog-friendly trails have been constructed, thanks to the efforts of many volunteer groups. See Details
Mackworth Island Mackworth Island is a pet-friendly 100-acre state park in Falmouth, ME. It is a great place to walk dogs oceanside, taking in the sites or observing birds in the sanctuary.
